Happy New Year!
How has your year been so far? Does January 1st seem a long time ago or just the other day? What are your hopes, your expectations at the start of another year?
February sees the start of the church’s year. A time for reflection on the year that has just ended and a looking ahead to the year that is starting. What were the highlights of last year? What stands out in your memory? It will be interesting to read the various group reports and to remember again all that God did for us.
And what of the year to come? What will it hold for us individually and collectively? A new minister; the start of a building project; new directions; new families; new believers; new members; new relationships; new activities? Whatever and whoever may change, of one thing we can be certain, the Lord will remain the same, yesterday, today and forever. He promises that He knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Let us step out confidently into all He has planned for us in the coming weeks and months.
Yours in Him,
Gillian
