Why Are We Not Persecuted?

Jesus said "Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness.." (Matthew 5:10).

It could be if you don't experience persecution, people probably don't know you are a Christian.

I read the other day of a man who was afraid because he was starting a new job with unbelievers who he thought might give him a bad time if they found out he was a Christian. After his first day at work, his wife asked him how he got on with them. "Just fine" he said, "they never found out I was a Christian".

Being silent is a good way to avoid persecution. Just say nothing.... Again, if you go along with the world, approve its ways, laugh at its jokes, join in its entertainment, take no offence when they mock God, you'll probable be accepted by them as they say "a good fellow".

Remember Jesus said "Woe to you when all men speak well of you. Whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when He comes in His glory." These are terrific words.... beware.... Him ashamed of me!!!! Popularity is a big price to pay.

Take your stand with the Lord and His Beatitude standards and you will be in direct conflict with Satan and the evil world system. The world cast out the Son of God.... it could not tolerate His goodness.

Never fear persecution. Be bold, stand up for Jesus. Purpose in your heart as Daniel did, not to defile himself, and nail your colours to the mast. Never fear this kind of persecution. God gives grace and will not test you beyond what you are able (1 Corinthians 10:13). Follow the example of your Saviour when difficulties come. You will find His grace is sufficient.
