First Steps
First Steps continues to attract a large number of babies and toddlers every Tuesday and Friday, together with their parent, grandparent or carer. As usual at the start of a new year we have seen some changes of faces. Tisha and her children, Nicholas and Alissa have returned to the States and others too have moved away or started playgroup or nursery. We will miss them but welcome others who have joined us, adding to our numbers and look forward to some new babies arriving too!
We have also said good-bye to Carol Brown who has moved on to other things after more than 20 years of helping at First Steps and Playgroup. Just before half term we were able to give Carol some flowers and a present to say thank you for all her hard work.
At the start of this term, the theme for our craft was “All things Bright and Beautiful”, so we made some bright rainbows and parrots, some beautiful butterflies and flowers, some great elephants and lions and some small butterflies and mice. Then for “wise” we made owls and mirrors (to reflect ourselves) and for “wonderful” we grew seeds and iced biscuits. We have also made special crafts to celebrate Valentine’s Day, Pancake Day and Mothering Sunday. Now our theme is Spring and Easter. The craft is a very popular part of First Steps, enjoyed by children and Mums alike! You can see some of the things we have made on our display board to the right of the sink in the church hall.
