Fellowship Weekend, Bawtry Hall
- A Personal Reflection

Yes, I know it is more of a distant memory, but I was asked to write a few words about the Fellowship Weekend Away last October, so here goes:

Facts & Figures
62 miles, 2 – 3 hours travelling (well, it was Friday).
48 people from QBC plus Ben Marlow (main speaker) and Barry Thompson (children’s worker).
4 teaching sessions plus 2 prayer meetings and 1 worship service.
1 free afternoon.

There are some things statistics can describe, for everything else there are feelings!

Positive Points
We all got on really well together and enjoyed the fellowship.
Ben gave us some well-structured and interesting talks on the theme of mission in the context of the Purpose Driven Church.
We all realised that there are a lot of good things going on at QBC. (First Steps, JAM, N:Courage and the Ladies Meeting, for example.)
Having all the catering and washing up done for us!

Negative Points
We didn’t really have sufficient time to talk through the main learning points for QBC and how we should implement them.
It was a lot of teaching packed into a short time.

Take Home Points
How can we build on the strengths of the fellowship?
We need to prioritise resources in the key areas.

What’s Next?
At the follow-up Member’s Meeting in December we agreed it would be good to undertake the 40 Days of Purpose programme (but it was too late to do the Lent course, so it will run in the Autumn).
There will be a fellowship away day at Beaumanor on Saturday 19th June.
Ben Marlow will be joining us again for the Church Anniversary.
