First Steps

First Steps continues to attract large numbers but we are thankful that these seem to have become more manageable again. The Nativity plays went very well and a lot of visitors came to watch including dads, grandparents and church folk. We also enjoyed our Christmas parties with the usual visit from Father Christmas.

This term we have made crafts to remind us of the jobs people do, for example train drivers, police constables and doctors. We have also made crafts to celebrate pancake day, Valentine’s day, Mothering Sunday, Red Nose day and Easter, and had two visits from the photographer.

After Easter we are starting a new venture with a parenting discussion group. This has been on our hearts for a while and we feel that now is the right time with several mums interested in coming. We plan to use the Parentalk material from Care for the Family which includes a video, discussion booklet and activity sheets. The first group will be on Wednesday 13th April from 9.45-11.15 am and should last for about 6 weeks. Please pray that this will be an encouragement and help to all those who come, and for Heather and Alison as they lead the discussion, and for Christine and Gillian who will run the crèche.
