Dare to be a Daniel

On Easter Saturday, a group of friends and I met up at Skegness to share the Spring Harvest holiday. We had a great time enjoying Christian company, Bible studies, seminars etc.

The main Bible study was on Daniel, a book well known to most, but very much brought to life and made relevant to 2005 by Gerald Kelly. Daniel was taken from his home, his family, his country and place of worship into a foreign land. It made me wonder how my faith would survive under the same conditions. Yet Daniel’s trust in God grew.

Each afternoon I attended the seminar led by Brother Andrew, who spoke on the persecuted church and how Christians, like Daniel, were trusting in God alone.

All other Christian props have been removed - no churches, house-groups, friends or Bible to support them. They are suffering torture and prison for their faith. And yet the churches under persecution are growing. We were told how much they rely on our prayers to strengthen and support them.

Again the same challenge - how strong would my faith be in the same situation?
