Christian Adventure Holidays
Anyone who attended the Fellowship Lunch held on Sunday 3rd June would have realised that some of the leaders from this year's holiday were with us. During that morning's service Howard had interviewed Stephen, Steven and Lee. To complicate things further my brother Stephen (also a leader at C.A.H.) was also with us.
The previous day we had a very good meeting and had managed to plan quite a lot of this year's programme. There was an addition to this years agenda, each outdoor pursuit team were to plan two sets of activity, sadly there was, and still is, the possibility of Foot and Mouth affecting or curtailing our plans. We feel very privileged that Bassenfell Manor (the venue for our holidays) has not been greatly affected. However this year's training week for leaders had to be cancelled due to the uncertainties of the Foot and Mouth at the time when we were booking expensive trainers for the week.
We still have a great deal of work to do to get the plans to reality. Please pray that we will manage to find the time to plan. Pray for all the young people who will be coming with us this year from 4th-11th August, particularly the youth of Q.B.C.- Joe Ablitt, Hannah Cole, Peter and Sarah Curtis, Sam and Katherine Gibb, Liz Gaunt, Chris Jansen, Ryan Ketteringham, Hannah and Daniel Shipway, Sam Stow and Sam Vanlint. Leaders from Q.B.C. will be Mark Bates, Simon Brown, Malc Cryer and Steven, Margaret and Jonathan Gaunt.
Pray for safety on our way to and from the Lake District and during the holiday. Pray for the energy of the leaders. Pray particularly for the cooks' feet! Pray also for safety during the activities both on the water and dry ground! Pray that the weather will be good in order that we can do the planned sports. Most of all pray that God will be in all we do and that each of us will grow in faith. In order that we can " throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith" (Hebrews 12 v.1+2)
