The Final Testimony...

...in our baptism series comes from Debbie Brown.

In receiving Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour it was the best decision I have made in my life. It is a decision I will never regret.

I have been brought up in a Christian family so most of my influence and knowledge has come through them.

As a child I went along to Sunday school and belonged to a group called 'Alpha'. I really enjoyed listening to the teachings and reading the study books we were given. I was fascinated by these books and always tried to find time to read them each day and to learn more about the wonders of God's creation.

By the time I reached the end of one particular book I found a section about how I could receive Jesus Christ. It explained that I didn't need to earn or deserve God's love and forgiveness but that He makes it freely available to anyone who is willing to stop living their life their own way and to put all their faith in Jesus to save them.

There was a verse from John 14 v14 saying You may ask Me for anything in My name and I will do it' So I decided to tell God I believed in Him and I wanted to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Therefore I prayed sincerely asking the Lord Jesus to come into my life, to forgive my sins and to give me the gift of eternal life. I knew from the moment I invited Him in to be the Lord of my life I would have eternal life because of the promise God made in the bible, that if you receive Him Jesus will take control. I realised every sin I had ever committed was forgiven and forgotten, my name was recorded in God's book of life in heaven and I have been accepted into God's family as His child.

As I carried on attending Sunday school my feelings and attitudes started to change in response to expressing myself and responding to what I was learning.

Now that I attend Youth Church I feel my life has become more meaningful, I am willing to trust and obey what God has called me to do.

When I heard that my friends were being baptised, 1 knew this was what God also wanted for me. I had been thinking about making this commitment over and over again but I kept putting it off until I heard God speaking so clearly to me. He brought me to Acts 22v16. I was challenged by His question, 'What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptised.' So I chose to obey The command of Jesus Christ to be baptised.
