The Ladies' Fellowship

We started our new session in September with a visit from Howard, followed by Daphne Harman, Jill Abell, and John Piper (from the Good News Centre). Howard paid us a final visit in October before leaving to go to Shepshed.

We shall miss Howard’s ministry and we will also miss Hilary. She led our meetings (and our singing) and was always available if we were short of a pianist. We ask that God will bless them and their work in their new church.

The middle of October saw us starting to study the 40 Days of Purpose. Each week we have watched the video message from Rick Warren and then discussed it, all members taking part.

Since Hilary left us several members have taken it in turn to lead the meetings. We feel that this has tied in with Rick Warren’s message on service. It has been a first time experience for some of us as we followed the memory text, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others” 1 Peter 4:10.

We now look forward to our Christmas celebrations and give grateful thanks to those who gave so generously to the Christmas Shoe Box appeal.
